We do feel that you would be an asset to Castilleja and have placed your name on our wait list in the evdnt that a place becomes available. Girls who were accepted to Castilleja have until March 18 to confirm their enrollment in the class so no additional admission decisions will be made until after that date. Out waitlist is unranked. If and when a place becomes available, we will review the wait list (those candidates who returned the wait list card) and choose the student(s) who will best complement the girl who have enrolled in the class.

It's exactly what you thought it was lol...but I think perhaps there was too many applicants similar to you? Not saying you're not unique or anything...but the admissions process is so complicated...

fxmom, what a great list to choose from. goodluck with making a decision.

kevester, remember the school that x_fat is talking about is a day school only. x_fat, is that true? if so ,it may not apply with a boarder.

yes, fxmom. It really is an amazing school. I'm look for more, though. Exeter would provide so many more opportunities for me, and it would also serve as a more nurturing enviroment to foster my growth in my four years of high school.

A question...for everyone who is going to a boarding school...do they let you go to movies and such? And what about out of school ECs, like dance class? And do you get to go to shopping malls, or do you go shopping during the summer when you're back at home? lol these are dumb questions but I've always been curious...

I don't know I hope they let us do these things. Well, to the choosing schools thing I'm kind of favoring Andover now. They gave us all grant money except about $6000 and they're in the process of getting me a full scholarship (books, laundry, etc). I hope I get then I'll definetely be in the Andover class of 2009!!!

Yes Prepparent we do live in the Caribben hence the look at the southern schools. We hope to visit Deerfield in April. The cold is something I am a bit concerned about and we'll therefore have to invest in some good warm outer and underwear for S. He is keen to "see snow" but then the excitement may wear off after the sludge and mud set in. I hope I can get some insight from this thread about the appropriate wear and items in general to purchase for S to take with him.

Congratulations! If you search in the Parents forum there have been several discussions about what to buy for kids from warm weather states heading off North. I remember them talking about layering rather than buying one heavy jacket. I would start there. By the way this is the worse winter we have had in years (I live in Massachusetts). The beauty and fun of the snow is starting to wear on everyone.
