TJ, I live in North Carolina (Durham) and it takes three post days to get mailed, so it would probably arrive on Monday, the 14th.

I'll be here! 2 more days....yikes!

Just wonderin, where has everyone here applied?

Applied for 9th grade to Andover, Exeter, St.Paul's and Hotchkiss.

SPS and Exeter are my top choices. Hotchkiss is my safety and Andover I'm not too crazy about. I'd take andover over hotchkiss cuz they have more to offer, but my interviewer sucked and ruined my whole flow and vibe of the school. On top of that, my tour guide at Andover didn't show up so I had to share my tour with another prospective student and her family and wait for another tour person to show up. Plus, I feel like andover may be a little too liberal for me and I prefer the more conservative.

Hotchkiss as a safety? Is your last name Ford?

You guys are all so confident. I'm worried sick.
I'm so clueless I won't be surprised if I don't get in all 3
and if I get in all 3.
I don't know what to think right now.
I'm doubting everything I did and said.

Regis, you can't change the past. What's done is done. Don't second guess yourself and have confidence that what will happen will be for the best.

I'm applying to Exeter, St. Mark's (massachusetts), and Andover. Andover is my last choice because I love the environment at Mark's and loved everything about Exeter.

do acceptances come in email and standby and rejections come in mail?

HEY GUYS! what if you got accepted to your last choice but waitlisted in your first choice?

What would you choose?

Some schools post their results online but ALL send letters for all three possibilities (rejections, waitlists, acceptances).

I would just put the downpayment down on both schools to reserve your spot and hope for the best.

Really, esa? Cause I was thinking that if they mailed 'em early on the tenth, thats the 10th, 11th, and 12th, so it should get here on the 12th. Saturday. Maybe thats wishful thinking though. You live in NC? Are you applying to Durham Academy?

Andover, Groton, and Exeter. In that order.

Applying for 11th grade.

I'm so nervous. Basically two days untill I hear about one.

Do you ppl get mail on Saturday?

I THINK we start getting the results Friday.

I am so excited to see all of your results! I wish I thought about applying to boarding school...but I would get so homesick! I applaud you guys on your willingness to try new things!

Honestly, I've "just outgrown my environment," at least, that's what the guy from Andover said.

We live in texas, last year my d recieved all her accept packets on friday march 12th. They came from mass, conn. So that was 2 days.

Hey everyone, I've been reading the previous thread about applying to New England prepschools and Ive really been able to relate to some of you guys!
Im currently a tenth grader at an international school in Indonesia and Im applying as an international student to the same schools as most of you! Ive applied to Andover, Exeter, Milton, Deerfield, Hotchkiss, the Hill and an all girls boarding school called Emma Willard in NY(safety school). Reading everyone's stats and postings has made me feel really selfconscious about my own resume.
I got a 91 percentile on my ssat and my EC's range from president of the student council to varsity sports like basketball, track, and even horseback riding. All my interviews were great, although some I had to do over the phone. But still, the question I've been asking myself ever since I began the application process is- 'what are my chances really?!' I mean I dont have a perfect score on the ssat and my school grades average to only a 90%.. plus I have the disadvantage of being an international student. Ive heard that some schools purposely seek out diversity, but do you think my status as an Indonesian citizen is a plus or a minus?
Please let me know what you think! Its really nerve racking how months of waiting and anticipation will finally be over this time tomorrow! (since exeter publishes its decision online at 9:00 am EST)
Thanks!!

Indo, I think your indonesian status is a plus- diversity is very important to these schools, as they often need to combat the view of the 'snotty prep kids'. Besides, an interested life story is always a plus for these schools. I lived in Nigeria for 7 years and Oman for 2, so I have a somewhat interesting story to tell.

I think you have a very good chance. My SSAT was higher, 98%, but my ECs are a lot less cause I'm homeschooled, just some theatre. You applied to plenty of schools- I'm as sure as I can be that you'll get in- at least to one!

Indo, looking at your list, my recollection is that the hill and EWS and i believe deerfield take more int'l students then the others. St. George's , and peddie would have been good choices for int'l students. Iam going by the %. good luck!

Groton publishes its decision online at 9:00 am EST; I am not sure about other schools.

Good luck everyone :)
