Anyone else offered this program, and is anyone going to do it?

Sounds interesting. Kinda sad for Merced though. Maybe they're hoping people will want to stay at UCM after two years?

yeah,i guess so

Dranakin, that is exactly their plan according to the news.

Somehow I doubt many students will stay. Are there other programs involving guaranteed transfers from UC Merced to other UC campuses? Actually I think this is a great idea because I keep saying there are too many students at Berkeley and not enough at campuses like Merced.

I don't think there are enough students at the Cal States. I mean, 23 campuses and I never see any publicity for them. A lot of them are good schools and I wouldn't mind going to one.

I don't know much about the Cal States. Actually I hear last year the number of applicants rose by a large amount at almost all the Cal States. But what I do know is that last year both UC Merced and UC Riverside underadmitted (meaning, they got fewer students to matriculate than they would have liked) and it's possible that UC Merced underadmitted this year too, so I would love to see more students enrolling at UC Merced.

Right now there are 8 CSUs with less than 8,000 students (last year's estimates of course). Still.
