My other interviews typically lasted an hour or a bit longer. UPenn's lasted 20 minutes! Some ten minutes into the interview, she asked me what leadership roles I have initiated, which caught me off guard really. My brain went blank even though there are a few significant leadership roles.. It was just not what I expected to hear, and everything went downhill from there.

Should I email her about my leadership roles even though most are on my app already?

Will this affect my admission? How badly, if so?

no no no! first, send her a thank you email. dont be apologetic. have confidence. everyone draws blanks and interviews can be nervewracking. you should NOT email her about your leadership roles, in my opinion, because your interview is already done. that’s like going back after a test and thinking about a question you missed on the test and asking to get the test back and answer it. it will NOT AFFECT YOUR ADMISSION! don’t worry. from what other posters have said, it hurts you 3% of the time (only if you seem lazy, arrogant, unfriendly, or an a**hole), does nothing 95% of the time (probably where you fall), and helps you 2% of the time. youre fine. interviews dont really affect the admissions process because they can be heavily biased. as long as the person doesn’t write a report and say “this kid really sucked and he was really bad”, then youre fine. and just because you blanked out, doesn’t mean they have the right to say that you had no leadership roles, because you mentioned it in your application. they don’t write about your answers, they write about if you seem like a nice person or not.

^ is perfect advice. Follow it.
