I horribly bombed the midterms and I'm starting to wonder if I'm going to flunk out of college. Is there still a way of getting a B/C even though I flunked my midterms?

Usually yes… what percentage of your grade is your midterm… most are 20-30 percent, plus, if you start going to office hours to show your concern/desire to do well, the sympathy card could come into help you.

My midterm is about 20% of my grade, which would give me a B- at most.

Pray for a curve.

25% on EE1, 47% on Math 33A.

That’s if it’s straight scaled. Most classes are curved

hmm…that’s better than me. my midterm is 30% with no curve. so if i failed it w/ a D or lower, i’m thinking of just putting p/np instead. i’ll be happy w/ a C or B.

maybe u should be put p/np if your class doesnt curve and not part of your major courses, but since it’s 20% u can still get B

I have a question, when is it advisable to request for a P/NP? Does it look really bad if you do it for a class that’s not part of your major, like a GE or something?

^^^ I don’t think you can do p/np for classes that are reqs/prereqs for major, but for ge’s or other classes you can.

Awe man. I was wondering, if I knew I was going to end up getting a C+ or a B- in a life science GE (I’m a north campus major), should I just get the P/NP? Also, does anyone know if getting a P instead of a letter grade looks really bad to law schools?

I’d take the P instead of a C+. Thats quite a big hit on lsac gpa, and they’re pretty big on that.
