Book Awards

So we were given book awards today... of the group, the two girls were given the ones from women's colleges, while the guys got "normal college" awards from Harvard, Brown, Colgate, etc. I ended up with Smith's book award and my friend with Chatham's. I feel a little bit cheated (by every quantitative measure and many qualitative ones, I am every bit as deserving as, if not more deserving than, the male winners of Harvard, Brown, etc) and while I respect Smith, I don't plan to apply there... and it's not considered as "prestigious" as the others.

SO, the mere existence of female colleges has become a disadvantage for girls in my school. I only hope that this is all worthless and I have no reason to worry. But do book awards count for much as far as their "relative" worth? I do hope not... the winner of the Harvard award and I will both be applying Early Action to Harvard next year. =X

There was a thread about this somewhere else and everyone said that your school decides who gets the books, not the university. You probably just got that particular book because it would be kind of silly to give it toa guy.
