Book Club

Okay, I got a book club up and running but I have 12 members who don't come to meetings--only 3 graduating seniors even like reading...so my question to you guys is: What would make you go to a school book club (assuming you like reading)? (like what book, what format, what time in between meetings, flyers, etc?) Thanks!

try giving a good amount of kids in your school (and all in the club) a survey on how to improve the club. Make sure you put some lines to list books they think would be interesting to discuss, etc. Everyone likes one book. Maybe try something controversial or a series many people are interested in. DEFF try the survey i think though!

Hope this helps!

Offer food and drinks. I love reading, but the only thing that would convince me to go to one of my school's book club meetings is free food. If you can, try offering books to lend/sell at the meeting. Some people are just too lazy to go out and get a copy.

Offer extra in Lit class or offer exemption from a literature final. You could also offer credits towards graduation

Free food.

Yeah. That'd get me to go.

Throw books at 'em.

Free pencils. Because nothing says quality to me more than some free pencils.

definitely free food, that's what that get people to go to the club in my school, and get to know the people, once you all are more close, people are less likely to not come just because
