I was just casually browsing through my school's website and ran into a clubs list, and then I was surprised to find (or not find) that there's no book club at my school. Then an idea popped into my mind, "why not start a book club?". It's an obvious thing to do since students of all grades have to read books outside of class throughout the school year, so it'll be a smart idea to start a club where people can come in, share what books they are reading, and help each other analyze in details of the book, and help them do the assignments that comes with it. Even when there is someone does not have a reading assignment to do, it can be a great place to get suggestions on what books to read next or just discuss about themes and universal messages of literature in general.
So, what do you guys think of the idea? Should I do this? Do you have a club like this at your school?

My school is pretty small, so we don’t have a book club either. But I think it’s a great idea, especially considering that people usually don’t get a chance to dedicate a part of their day towards reading (other than an English class, but that doesn’t count).

Thanks! And that’s a big reason I want to start the book club, because I feel like if there’s resource for help and discussion on the books read, students may not rely on sparknotes (sigh) as much, or they may actually read the books instead of looking up summaries.
