What is the best book to prepare for SAT Math 2?

I’d say Barrons because its tests are harder than the real thing so if you can do Barrons, then you’re good.

Thank you. Are any retired test available somewhere?

There is a collegeboard book of SAT subject tests you can get cheaper at amazon, usually, and collegeboard also has test questions on their website.

Go for Barrons. If you get 700+ particularly in the last couple tests, you should be able to get 800 or at least close to it.

You should be cautious with Barron’s. The practice tests are much much harder than the actual thing. Even though I was cognitively aware of this fact when I was studying for my math L2 test, I still felt extremely discouraged by my practice tests scores.

I recommend buying the Collegeboard math L2 practice tests (along with Barron’s study guide). Take your first practice test to see where your skills are. After, prep with Barron’s, but remember what you got for you Collegeboard practice test (it will give you a sense of how deflated the Barron’s scores are). After you’ve taken lots of Barron’s practice tests, take your second Collegeboard math L2 test-- that will give you the best estimation of how you’ll actually do on the real test.

My D almost cried after the last practice test on Barron’s the week before the real test. I think she missed around 10 questions. At the end, she score 800 in the real test and missed no question (or may be 1). It is better to be over-prepared. Just be aware of the higher difficulty on the practice test.
