Book reccomendations for AP Spanish Language and Culture?

Hi all,
I’m doing a self study in AP Spanish language with my mom who is a native speaker. We’ve been working through textbooks but thought it might be a good idea to get started on some literature. I know it’s not AP Spanish Lit but I think it would be really helpful with the learning process. My parents know of some good spanish books, but I was wondering if there were any books that teachers would recommend for this level? As in, the Spanish cultural equivalents to what The Catcher In the Rye and 1984 are for english classes.

There are sites that help. Have you started that process yet? There is a certain amount of writing and reading required. Google is your friend.
