Self Study for AP Spanish Literature

Hey guys. This year I’m a junior and I’m taking AP Spanish Lang, English Lang, Calc AB, and Us History. Next year I plan on taking AP Spanish Lit, Calc BC, Stats, English, and Gov, but Spanish Lit isn’t available at my school and I have a few questions for anyone currently taking it or anyone that has taken it.

  1. How hard is it? I'm a native Spanish speaker, and although it helps a little in lit I know I still have to study really hard for it since I heard its a hard test.
  2. I will be taking it next year and so I plan to read a lot during the summer for the ap test. Do you guys think this is enough time?
  3. Are there any good review books out there for Spanish Lit?
  4. Will English Lit help a little with the whole analysis portion of both tests since its essentially the same thing but in different languages.

Sorry if its a really long post, but I wanna thank anyone fore helping

I took the exam last year without taking the class, so I’ll give you my perspective. I’m not a native speaker and I scored a 5.

  1. About as hard as any other AP test.
  2. Yup, as long as you read the prose from the syllabus.
  3. No.
  4. Yes. That was my strategy. Literary analysis is pretty much the same regardless of language.

@skieurope Thanks. You bring me hope!
