So I have a little problem, my classes have changed since they sent that e-mail about books (the list that said what we needed to get for each class) so if anyone has that/knows where to find it, please PM me. Also, for those upperclassmen on this site, does anyone have an EngrMech or Diff Eq book they would like to sell?

K:\DF\DFH\Weller

wow, thanks, you saved my life

they sent out an email a while ago sayin that we're starting our own little book exchange website thing.

yeah, it seems pretty limited as far as selection. There aren't any of the books I need on there

how much do you end up paying for books each semester? is it taken out of your pay automatically or is this an add-on cost?

You buy your own books from the C-store, other people, online. Or you can borrow, we are the only one of the three big academies that don't "issue" books. So, with the exception of custom books which must be bought from the C-store, everything else is the best deal you can find.

on average i'd say about $400-$500 a semester

just got our $600 for books the other day.. hard not to spend it :( lol

Hmmm... seems odd that they would not provide the books.

2013ers-take the initiative and look for upperclassmen to sell you non-custom books at the beginning of the fall semester.

I bought 2/4 of my books this way and saved 60% off what I would've spent on those two.

This semester, I'm pretty much trading all my books with my classmates (already have the custom books i needed), and I spent less than $100 on everything I need.

Be smart and save yourself money :)

Now remember that for the next, what, 9 months? lol

For some reason I have a hard time believing that the cost of textbooks is the primary concern for 2013... I think getting here would be a little bit higher up. Still, good advice for those that remember.

Nah, I definitely think that getting books will be harder than BCT ;)

i didn't mean it like that.
i know it's not a priority at this point, but it's good to remember and it's fresh on my mind-many of my squadmates got burned because they went straight to the c-store and bought everything new.

You do realize 2/4 is the same as 1/2..... unless you're saying two out of four. Nevermind.
