I have barrons right now which is ok. Any suggestions between pr and kaplan before i shell out the $$

I used Barron's, but I heard Kaplan was good.

Barron's practice tests are harder and different from the real thing. I found it unhelpful. In general, PR is my favorite. I studied with my friend who had the PR SATII Chem and I found it much more useful.

i used to like barrons for everything but i'm realising they are just give to much crap you don't need to know. if u learning stuff that's not on the test, go with barrons.

PR = go to hell

Well, I liked PR....i used PR + a bit of Kaplan + a few chapters of Barron's.
For SAT II Chem you really only need the basics of everything.

I thought PR was too basic for the test. I used Barron's all the way. I felt confident during and after the test.

how did u study for the test? Did you take notes from the book or did u just read it?

I just read it and did all the practice problems & sample tests. I took the SAT II after I took the AP test though, so I still remembered most of the concepts.

I actually bought another textbook and looked up topics from there. (Chemistry: Central Science) I used Barron's as a guide.
