<p>For some reason I constantly get low 20s on my english practice sections. Do you guys know of any "books" that might help me out? I got a 33 on the science and a 31 on the reading sections. Also, I have lived in America all my life. Thanks a lot for your help.</p>

<p>There's a free online copy of The Elements of Style by Oliver Strunk. I had already read most of The Elements of Style before taking the ACT, and I got a 34 on the English section with ease. However, I'm also taking a fairly rigorous composition class, so that obviously helped me out as well.</p>
<p>i don't think you need to read any books or anything, just know what to look for:
idioms, subject-verb agreement, etc</p>
