English

I screwed up the ACT English section.

Any suggestions? This time I think I rushed through the passages. There are just too many questions and I always feel like I have to rush to finish them. What are your techniques?

Any good books for the English section? I improved 6+ points in every section this time but went down in English.

So did I, I got a 25 and I thought I would do best on that section.

jw, how do you guys tackle the english section? I find it difficult when it comes to the english section. I have done very well on the writing, math, and science section, but not english s. :/

I don't have a technique. I just read the passage and answer questions as they pop up. I got a 34 on the English section. I also don't know very much about grammar and usage rules. I just went off my intuition, which evidently served me well.

Go out to Barnes and Noble and study grammar books until you're perfect like me! It'll get you a 36! I guarantee it! Worked for me!

Get a review book, study grammar rules, and be sure to do lots of practice problems so you learn how to spot and apply the grammar rules you learned before the test.
