So I went on to preorder my books. I selected the option to defer my payment but it also said something about a Student Store account? I don't think I have one and I don't really understand why I need one to defer my payment. It let me finish the order though. Do I need to make an account? I'm so confused. I don't want there to be any problems when I go to pick them up.

You really shouldn’t buy the books from Student Stores if you can find them anywhere else.

preordering from the student store would be a huge waste of money
you can look up all the books that you’ll be assigned in your classes and then go to a used book store. or, chegg.com, which is awesome and really cheap

bleh, my mom made me preorder all my books at the student store yesterday…
can I cancel the order online?
where can I find what books I’ll need for my classes?

You can find what books you’ll need via the student stores website. BUt I don’t know if you can change your order on-line or not.

There are many places to find books. Try amazon.com (both from Amazon directly and from individual sellers in Amazon Marketplace), half.com, etc. Some widely used books that have been around for a while, such as the textbook for Chem 101 can be purchased for much less price than what student stores has to offer.
