bookstore

This may be a really silly question, but if I need a textbook from the bookstore, do I have to order it online or can I just walk into the bookstore and buy it in person?

I am taking a class at Penn as an exchange student this term. My home college's bookstore lets us look at the books in the store, but I realize that Penn is a lot larger than Bryn Mawr.

You can do either. I've just been buying books as I need it in person. Some of the books at only available at the Penn Book Center[another bookstore near here] BTW.

Thanks. So would I usually find my textbooks in the Book Center rather than the Bookstore? Or do I have to check both? (Which one would be more likely to carry my textbooks?)

Bookstore is more likely.

Also, try Better Than The Bookstore: Buy and Sell Used Textbooks. It's run by Penn students and I got some of my books significantly cheaper there.

The bookstore is not any more likely then the Penn book center[from my experience]. It varies between professor as they are the ones who put in the orders for the books. Last semester, 3 of my 4 classes were at the center. You pretty much have to wait till after the first class meeting to be sure.

You can also check the Bookstore's website[through the Penn website]. If your professors have ordered books through that store, they might appear on there[this will let you know the books are at this store].

Thanks everyone. The bookstore seems to have the books for all of my classes.
