Okay, so I was just wondering if there was any secret to making your boots bearable…

I was issued my Army ACUs yesterday (I train with the Army ROTC, because my school doesn’t offer sports) and wore it around a little bit to get a feel for it. But after just a little bit of walking my ankles were alredy blistering from rubbing against the cutoff of the heel support. I’m not sure if they’re the same as the Air Force boots, but I figured they’d probably be similar. Does anyone have any remedies/suggestions to fix this?

If you hit the "search" drop down menu, at the top of the page, and then click on "advanced search" you can put in "boots" and maybe even "breaking" in the search field, scroll down to the "US Service Academies" section (right before the alpha list), and "search" you will get more than you ever wanted to know about breaking in boots! ;)

haha true.. they arent the same as the air force's boots. well, depends on which ones.. i dont see many desert boots here. it's either sage for the 4 degrees or black for the upperclassmen

I never had any blisters during basic, i suppose i got lucky... But standing up all day long and marching everywhere...well lets just say my heels and the balls of my feet still have no feeling;)

When my dad was issued his DCUs and other desert gear for when he went to LSA Anaconda, he basically made me wear his boots around to break them in for him. (We have the same foot size) I really didn't have any problems with them. I even wore those boots to school a few days (once with his full uniform. One of our dress-up days was Blaze Orange/Camo day so I actually wore his full uniform :-D Funny thing, I matched one of my teachers because he just retired from the Air National Guard)
So in my exerience so far, A.F. boots are better
