I miss class. A lot. Yes, I realize that reflects badly on me. (Insane family member issues, namely my lovely violent anti-medicine bipolar father. And my mother, who loves him and won't leave. And me. Her shield when he starts getting abusive.)

I did mention above issues in my essay--well, touched on it, really. I don't really want people treating me like a kicked puppy. My essay in a nutshell is... (copy+pasted from previous post):

I wrote about the concept of being alone through this things my boyfriend and I do---we call each other before we go to bed and leave the phone. I know. We're dorks. (Still, it's nice when you wake up and you look over to your pillow and the call is still there. Comforting, in a strange way. But I digress.)

It's her boyfriend on the other end. I think they just leave the phone off the receiver and go to sleep. Is that right, corretto?

I was just wondering what that does to your phone bill...

i like your essay idea. i don't think it's creepy at all.

...ahaha free minutes after 9 (way too early for bedtime) and we wake up before peak hours.

It's just nice. We say good night. We put each other on speakerphone. If I have a bad nightmare or something, I can look over and see he's on the other end. I could probably wake him up if I wanted too, but he needs his sleep haha. Poor boy.

I think it's sweet.

Thank you :) He's a sweet kid.

Anyway, I know my SAT's are kind of low for Columbia---does anyone how much little mistakes on my application are going to cost me?

Again, I repeated a movie in concerts/performances/exhibits/w.e section (I don't know how it slipped past me, but it did.) And on my essay this is an error in grammar---my cellphone lay next to me vs. my cellphone lies next to me. I was doing some editing and had "lies" first, and then reworded it, but I decided to change it back in the end but kept "lay" so now it sounds ridiculous. SO. ANGRY.

Wow. I must be crack. I just read over my post and it sounds like I don't know english hahaha. Whatever, it's too early... haha, but I totally DO see how I could have missed those mistakes now. Ugh. Hate the world. Well, sans ceux qui me contestent :D

The scores do look a tad low for Columbia, but you ECs and courseload seem rigorous, so that's good. As for the mistakes in your essay... as long as the content's outstanding, I'm sure a grammatical mistake or two will be condoned. Hehe, your stats are better than mine...

I don't know---according to most people I've talked to, almost everyone who applies is already academically qualified to do well so Columbia just kind of... picks and chooses out of what kind of people the applicants seem to be. Makes sense, I suppose.

*picks and chooses based on what kind of people the applicants seem to be

Wow. That was really strange... why did my posts just invert themselves?

oh my----enough said ;)

Ahaha, I hope that's a good "oh my"---my nerves still bother me sometimes when I think about it too much. Fingers crossed...

yea ur EC's are waaaay better than mine. I'm hoping my dedication shines through the multitude of applicants with perfect scores.

But I feel as if EC's aren't going to be as important as my test scores, which are, conveniently, low. Regrettable, but too late now.
