@suzyQ7 hey, yes it’s for EA. I got it in an email a little over two weeks after I submitted my application.
It was saying that my early action application was complete and EA decisions will be emailed during the week of the 11th
Edit: Just checked… I received the email on November 18
@suzyQ7 The email saying Dec 11th said the email decisions will be released “during the week of December 11.” It did not say ON Dec 11th. I interpreted that as the decisions will be emailed some unspecified date during that week, not necessarily on Dec 11th.
@rhetorics My son received the email about emails be setting out during the week of Dec 11. The email was dated Nov 18. As mentioned earlier the subject line is ‘your application is complete’. When the email is opened, it says “Your early application is complete.” I logged in and there is no indication of the app being EA or RD so no way to check if your app is EA but you can check that on common app I believe.
Now for something odd that happened. When I logged into my son’s portal account to see if there was any indication that the app was EA or RD to assist with answering rhetorics question, a security agreement popped up that required my son’s password before it would let me look at his application status. Anyone else get this security agreement?

@kpkpkpkp You’re on the low end…which school did you apply to? Any hooks? Legacy? URM? You might have a shot at Morrissey, but you’re still a little low. CSOM seems like a reach.
I would really appreciate it if someone could chance me for the Lynch school Early Action. I am currently a highschool senior from New Jersey.
I am an Asian male from a competitive public highschool and have already applied early action.
32 ACT (35 English 34 Reading 29 math 30 science 8 essay)
Extracurriculars:
4 years of lacrosse (we are nationally ranked)
Extensive missions trips in Nicaragua and the ghettos of New Jersey.
2 summers of interning for a law firm
1 year of wrestling
4 years of Stock Market club (member)
4 years of key club (member)
2 years of national music honors society
1 year of select after school orchestra program
The Lynch school of education is my top choice. I would be thankful if I could hear feedback on what you think my chances of acceptance are. Thanks!
My transcript looks somewhat poor and inconsistent due to the fact that I simply lacked motivation throughout highschool. But Boston College is absolutely my number 1 choice and I am hoping they will see my potential through my essays.
So there’s already a thread out there specifically for chances so if that’s what you seek please go there. This thread should really just be for discussion. And for all those worried about their chances, applications are already in so there’s nothing that can be done now; it’ll just make you more nervous to have complete strangers tell you what they think. I wish all of you the best of luck though and hope this didn’t come across as rude!
Anyone know if BC has consistently released decisions on the same day of the week or some other pattern? I’ve read last year’s thread and I don’t think they knew exactly what day they were getting decisions until just a few hours before! Hoping its earlier rather than later in the week next week.
Good luck to everyone applying early action!! I’m applying regular but I was wondering if anyone knows if BC’s reported ACT range of 30-33 is super scored or if it is the non-recalaculted composite?
@Sexyaznninja I would say because you are a male applying to Lynch, you might have a decent chance. But I’m not sure because I don’t know what your transcript looks like. Any C’s or just a lot of b’s? Did you trend up? Your ACT is strong enough for Lynch.
I think the ACT range is super-scored, but not 100% sure but being they do super score, that would be my guess.
And there isn’t really a trend yet on release dates because last year was the first year they sent emails. Prior to that they sent letters in snailmail which arrived beginning on Friday…we live in NJ and my daughter who is at BC now got her letter on the Monday.
@collegemomjam I received 3 C’s freshman year ending with a 3.1 GPA. Sophomore year I got mostly A’s and received a 3.8. Junior year I received a 3.5 with 2 C’s. As you can see my transcript looks pretty inconsistent due to my lack of a goal and drive. I only recently became interested in education and I’m hoping that I explained my circumstances well in my essay. Do you still think I have a chance?
It’s hard to say. I guess it depends on how well you described your circumstances. Your ACT is strong but I do think that grades carry more weight. If you get deferred, just make sure your grades are solid this year (when you send your midyears) and that you are in touch with your admissions counselor so that you can maybe explain your situation better. I think Lynch is the easiest of the 4 schools to get in and I think being male might help, but I’m not really sure. Good luck you should know in a little more than a week!
