Boston College EA 2021 Thread

Asgasjdgashjda so nervous

Are decisions sent in a letter or an email? because on the portal it said that “decisions aren’t posted online” or something like that. im confused as to what that means exactly

Email- they attach a letter to the email with the decision. They are not posting it on the portal.

ughhhhh that means I can’t obsessively check the portal

Hi! I applied to BC EA as well, but I’m honestly not expecting an acceptance since BC is a reach for me. I like the school a lot. So decisions will be mailed some time next week? I live in MA, so if decisions are mailed, I’d probably get them quickly.

They will be emailed some time the week of 12/11, not snailmailed.

nvm i found mine

Has anybody’s Profile been processed yet? They said it would start at the end of November and I sent mine in a few days before the priority deadline. They received a ton of my parents’ financial info that was mailed in like tax returns, business supplement, business taxes, etc but nothing has updated about the Profile.

Also, one of the forms on the list is student tax returns. I did not work and therefore don’t file taxes, so do I notify them about that somehow? I don’t want a financial aid package to get delayed because of that.

Did you receive an e-mail stating when “early action” decisions will be released?

My daughter got an email that said decisions would be released via email the week of 12/11.

Hey guys I was just wondering, out of all of the schools at Boston College which one do you guys think is the easiest to get accepted into? Is Morrissey easier than some of the other schools because thats the one I applied to.

I think Lynch is the easiest (Education). Then I think Morrissey, then Nursing, then CSOM. CSOM is by far the hardest. My daughter is a sophomore in CSOM now and in her stats class this past spring they said they were considering posting the CSOM acceptance rate stats separately because it is much harder to get in…I think something like 17-18% of applicants get in, and I think Morrissey is more like low 30’s which is still quite competitive, but easier nonetheless.

so nervous about hearing the results, i want to be accepted so so badly but BC is getting so much harder to get into as years go by, i just hope that everything I did was good enough to at least get deferred…

Anyone know if having a Notre Dame legacy lowers your chances of getting in at BC? I’ve heard that when they see that your parents went to ND they assume that you’re less likely to go to BC and are just applying as an alternative…anyone know anything about this?

That seems logical, but I honestly doubt it happens. I don’t think BC worries about yield protection the way some other schools do. And there are a lot of people that end up choosing BC over Notre Dame especially if they want business because the BC business school is very strong (like Notre Dame’s) and some people prefer BC’s location over Notre Dame’s. I don’t think they would not take you and automatically assume that you will go where your parents went. If they like your application I think they will offer you admission, regardless of where your parents went to college.

But this is just my opinion!!!

Boston College does not take interest into account, so I do not think it will hurt you.

Any ideas on when next week decisions could come out? Last year was the first email decisions though so I can’t check several years back in decisions threads to find a pattern.

@class0f2017 what day was it last year? (I don’t feel like looking back right now haha)

@c011e9e
Class of 2019: Friday the 19th
Class of 2020: Wednesday the 16th

Does anyone know if the students received an email last year saying what week decisions would be released, like they sent this year? If so, what did it say?
