Boston College MBA

Hello all. First time poster here. I'm planning to apply to grad school for Fall 2013 and was hoping some people with experience could provide some advice.

I'm doing a career change and am focused on getting into the Front Office of the investment industry. My ultimate goal is to get experience as a portfolio manager and then build out my own business from there.

I don't have a background in investments except I have been tracking the markets and create tracking portfolios that do beat the S&P 500 by quite a bit. My work experience was working for the US Navy as an Electrical Engineer for 5 years.

Now that you know a little bit about my background here is my question: is Boston College's MBA program good enough for someone doing a career change into the investment field? All I want is a foot in the door for an internship and I will do the rest.

I'm also open to other schools as well. Any suggestions will be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance and happy hunting!

The fact that so many people have looked and have no input must mean that is a no go.

Actually since no one posted it probably means that they really can’t answer your question either way. An MBA is a good way to get a career change. You have good chances especially since you have 5 years of work experience.

If you only want to specialize in investment maybe an MS in Finance would be good?

Also, the B-School section of CC isn’t really hot right now. Try the GMATClub forum.

Oh ok thanks!

WOW, I would like to check it out on GMATClub ! Nice info!
