Boston College RD 2022 Thread

oh sorry i meant 5/6 EST (I’m in central)

have admissions for MA students been released?

BC sent an email stating that decisions will be released on March 22nd.

what time?

I don’t think they specified

getting more and more nervous

Pretty terrified I was deferred early action so truly hoping for the best

I feel like I’ll cry either way lol

Rejected Northeastern and waitlisted at BU. BC has been my top pick all along and did 2 week summer program there last year. I’m hoping the stars align and I get into BC. But my hopes are dwindling after BU and Northeastern news. Crossing fingers Thursday is a good day!

@BCBoundMaybe are you saying NE and BU are easier to get into than BC? I’m curious because I don’t know much about BC and BU and I recently started looking into BC. I wanted a smaller school like BC but if BU is easier to get into than I might apply to both.

BU had 64,000 applicants for 3,300 spots – they accepted 22% this year (including rejections with promises to accept a transfer into sophomore year). It is very competitive, especially this year.

@BCBoundMaybe I was rejected Northeastern too. pretty disappointed but if you look at the thread so many incredible applicants were too, & I think they really upped their standards A LOT this yr. really worried the same thing will happen w BC but this yr’s EA accepted pool’s average SAT increased by only ~30 points from the EA group of last year, so, I’m hoping RD has the same trend

Does anyone know if the difficulty of getting into BC is similar to BU and NE?

Does anyone know what time we find out on Thursday?

I think at 6 pm last year

My niece was accepted to Northeastern 2 years ago with a scholarship, accepted to BU, and waitlisted at BC. She chose Northeastern. She did not stay on BC waitlist.

I remember when I was researching colleges last year that BC was historically more selective than BU and NE and NE was slightly more selective than BU. However this year NE and BU both received an increase in applicants and are also trying to boost their ranking. This meant that this year they were a lot more selective than they have been previously. Don’t know if this means BC is going to be more selective or not, but it’s making me nervous as I was waitlisted for BU

Since I got accepted to both BU and NE, do you think I have a chance at BC? I got deferred EA from BC

I honestly don’t know. I don’t think stats mattered as much this year for BU since there were people with really good stats who got denied or waitlisted and those with ok stats who got accepted. I’m not sure about BC though

BU acceptance rate was 29% last year but plummeted to 22% this year (it is ~25% more difficult this year).
BC was 31% last year but had a 9% increase in applications so it’s more competitive than last year.
