I applied EA and got the financial aid email a couple days ago as well. However, one of the financial aid staff members personally reached out to my father this morning asking for more information on his wages.
I don’t want to be too optimistic or anything, but (hopefully) this is a good sign?

Do we know if the people that got the first email actually got in? Or did BC say it was a mistake?

@our4kds Look around comment 41. People got an email saying congratulations from FA. Then I think FA tried to backpedal because they hadn’t realized they were letting the cat out of the bag. Then people got an email saying something like, “Yeah, you got in.” I mean, these FA and Admin folks are trying to do so much, so it’s understandable how things happen. Let me know if you’re interpreting things differently, if you take a look at the comments.
Yes that is what happened. It was for a very tiny group. Gabelli level. To think they did it again is probably not a great idea. But who knows. I hope everyone gets in if that’s what they really want.
Hamiltonfan1780 just call the financial aid office on Monday morning. They will confirm if FA app is complete, or not.

@COSpgsparent I see what you are saying I guess I wish we could know what happened with everyone that received it to know for certain.

^About them being Gabelli-level, that would fit the one kid I personally know in that first group, who is headed to one of HYPS.
Tiny size, timing and stats of a few here and one personally. But don’t stress, it has not impact on you or whether the fin aid update was a backdoor good news story. Hope so. And after this week anything seems possible.

I was rejected as well and also waitlisted by Holy Cross which I was hoping was more of a target. No idea what to think

Sorry for HC. Nephew who is the single best kid other than my d I know, took the L from HC. today. Goes to a prestigious day school. Captain of football and baseball teams and plays bass clarinet in the band. Not kidding and he’s 6 5 250. Great grades and decent but not great acts. Super recs and ecs. I think HC had a really tough year. And they really look at demonstrsted interest. And fwiw, I think their waitlist does get used
He’s waiting on some others but already got into PITT and is so stoaked already.
You teonmust have some offers in hand. Good karma. Talk about some good stuff. Who said yes already.

If you’re being nice. Thank you. But I am only a parent who got totally interested in this process last year with my own daughter and have spent countless hours trying to understand the process, researching , reading and finding out how it works. I am a fountain of potentially useless but well intentioned and researched information.
100% a compliment! I am going through this for the first time myself. I am only a parent who’s daughter has worked very hard and I am hoping for the best for her. You seem informed and I am looking for insight.
