Boston College vs Babson College

Which college is better, in terms of the Economics Programs?

Babson is known for entrepreneurship, with a very high level of teaching (professors there have to be very good teachers to earn their tenure). BC is overall a stronger university.

I’m with @prof2dad.

Babson is a teaching college, and it offers cross registration with Olin College, Wellesley College, and Brandeis University. It’s a very pre-professional business-oriented school. Students from Babson tend to do very well in business careers. I wouldn’t recommend Babson for someone interested in a more rigorous, math-oriented academic economic path.

Boston College is a more traditional liberal arts college with a good economics program. It’s a semi-target school for Wall Street and offers good prospects in the business world, but it’s more respected academically.

Boston College is a much better program and university. These are not peer schools.

Agree with BC as the better option for economics.

It’s a tough one since they are both such different types of schools. Babson would offer you more practical and experiential learning in business since it’s smaller and more intimate. I wouldn’t agree that Boston College has a better overall reputation since Babson is very highly regarded as a business school. I think it would be for what you want to do with the Econ degree after.
