I got into the business schools for all but UMich.

BC gave no money roughly 60k a year
Rutgers gave me a full ride
Umich gave no money roughly 60k a year (i’m out of state)… didn’t get into Ross so I’d have to work to get in after Freshman year.
Fordham gave me some merit… I’d pay roughly 25k a year (and I’m in the honors program which only has 25 students in it per class)

Money is not a HUGE issue, but it’ll still put some pressure on my parents.

At first, my instincts were to go to BC because I think it’s the perfect size and CSOM is in the top 10 now and it’s in the perfect area and I’ve visited twice and I’ve loved it!

But the whole paying 60k a year is really bothering me cause Rutgers full ride keeps lingering over my head.

As much as I love BC, Rutgers is a pretty good option, even better when it’s free. I’m not sure BC, or any school, is worth 240k over Rutgers. If you work hard at Rutgers, you’ll be able to secure many of the same internship/job opportunities as you would have at BC, plus you’ll be $240,000+ better off.

I was actually in a similar position as you. I could have went to Rutgers and gotten a considerable scholarship (I’m in-state so it would have made the cost basically zero), or go to BC (among other schools) and get nothing. I chose BC.

While Rutgers is a good school, I personally did not want the high school drama to carry over to college. I felt that if I went with the other 20+ kids from my high school to there, it just wouldn’t be a good fit. BC, on the other hand, has much better academics than Rutgers (IMO) and I felt that the opportunity to challenge myself at BC would be much more beneficial than anything at Rutgers.

This is really a question for your parents.

At least half of BC’s students are full pay, and most if not all, had great, much less expensive instate options. Some were even offered merit money at other colleges. Yet, they chose BC instead bcos they could and were willing to pay full freight.
