Did your email have an attachment titled BC admission decision. My daughter just got this email but we are at her high school graduation & are waiting to open it
Yes, the title of the rejection was “Boston College admission decision”. But, with fingers crossed for you, perhaps they use the same title for bad AND good news?
In case anybody missed this Admissions announcement today on Twitter: “Waitlist for first-year students has been cleared. Only 15 offers made this year.”
To the experts following this thread does this lack of going to the waitlist mean BC’s yield was higher than expected compared to past years? Do you anticipate a lower acceptance rate next year based on what occurred for the class of 2021?
@Shade45 It could mean a lot of things. The over enrolled class obviously means that BC did not anticipate so many students accepting BC’s offer. This could be because it was a fluke year with irregular interest, but it could also mean that this year was harder to get in. Overall in the past few years, waitlist numbers have fluctuated, but last year there was less movement than the year before, and this year had the same thing. It seems to be a combination of BC is becoming an even more competitive school, and also that the college process is so fickle. Hope this helps.
Yes, very insightful. Thank you. Any other opinions form the “insiders”?
