Boston College Waitlist Class of 2020

No

No, I did not @DaveRans

@DaveRans I actually did receive an email. It may just take some time. Mine said:

Dear my name,

Thank you for submitting your online Waitlist Confirmation form to Boston College.

If you have questions about your Waitlist Confirmation form submission, please contact the Boston College Undergraduate Admission Office at (800) 360-2522 or 617-552-3100.

@403320 and @actssmart, have you guys received emails yet, because I have not

@DaveRans No I haven’t… I haven’t sent anything to BC besides submitting the form that confirmed my spot on the waitlist

Did anyone send an email to BC saying that they are still interested? If you did, what email did you send it to? I’m not sure who to send mine to. Is it to the regional counselor or someone else?

@DaveRans I still have not received an email

If you are truly interested and willing to grind out a few more weeks of anxious waiting then you should do two things:

  1. Put a deposit down on your second choice and get excited about that option.
  2. Send a note to your regional rep with a copy to BC admissions and let them know that BC is your top choice and if selected off the waiting list you will accept.
Colleges want to know that you not only have interest in being on the waiting but also that you will accept their offer.
    Good luck.

For anyone on BC’s waitlist:

Because the chances of getting off the waitlist are low, and because anything related to getting off the waitlist is out of your control, it’s time to focus you energy on the schools you’ve been accepted to.

Here is an excellent CC link from a few years back providing a comprehensive assessment of what it means to be on a waitlist for a competitive school. It’s well worth reading and it is still relevant today.

Last yr BC took 350 kids from the wl. That is a significant portion of the class. There is hope for those on the wl

@wisteria100
Can you provide a pointer to where that 350 number came from?

Last year we offered to just over 300 students on the waitlist, the highest number in 5 years. Not all students offered accept the spot. The year prior (Class of 2018), we offered to 50 students.

@jpm50 posted above with excellent advice.

–Boston College Undergraduate Admission

Hi I have two questions! When I send a note to BC admissions should it be to the same email that I got my decision from? Also, should I send my third quarter grades? My math grade went from an 85 last semester to a 93, so I figure they would like to see that. Thanks!

From the Big College future website - stats reported from last yr

Regular Applicants
Total applicants 29,486 Admitted 8,405 Enrolled 2,162
Wait list Statistics
Offered place on wait list 7,072 Number accepting place 3,897 Accepted from list 351

@viola627 You should contact the admission counselor who signed your letter. And yes you are welcome to submit third quarter grades.

When will we be notified about the waitlist decisions?

@gxssipgirl - If there is any waitlist activity, it will not occur until after May 1.

anyone got any updates on the waitlist?
