Waitlisted, got it today. Pretty shocked, actually, I thought BC was a lock although I wasn't really planning on attending either way. Seems to have been a pretty depressing year all-around for transfer students, eh?

Waitlisted as well, found out today.

HELP... please!

So I applied to BC, Georgetown, John Hopkins, Upenn, GWU, and Northwestern.

My stats:
SAT: 1370
SAT II: 620, 640, 580.
HS GPA: 4.0 (weighted) 3.5 (unweighted)- very prestigious public school- #1 in the state.
COLLEGE GPA: 3.3 (3.0 first semester, 3.65 second semester) - a very prestigious top liberal arts college
A ton of EC's and awards in Model Congress, Model UN, Junior Statesmen of America, Freedom's Answer, Mock Trial and Lacrosse.
Interned on the hill (Sophomore year) and this summer at the governor's office (1st to be accepted in the legislative department).
One excellent rec and one good rec I would assume.
Any thoughts? Thanks!

Oh I was also Girl's State and won about eight speaking/ debate awards.

Hey, I just got waitlisted...I didn't even know they had them for transfer students!

My friend who already got in, and is hoping i will too, called the transfer admissions today posing as a student writing a paper about transferring. She asked for the stats of the waitlist and apparently they were VERY hesitant about even telling her, especially since the numbers aren't exact, but here it is:

Transfer applications: about 1200
Accepted: 70
Waitlisted: 150

They said they'll only admit 10 or less students, only IF they decide to even use the waitlist this year! Because they have so few spaces they might not even accept anymore....anyone else bummed by these numbers?

this year was ROUGH transfering

Stressed... where do you currently go to school

Hey I'm wondering how many of you out there are actually going to take a position on the waitlist?

Like I posted before, if they even use the waitlist, they'll only take about 10 students out of 150...so i don't even know if it's worth it.
I am just grateful I got on it. they only accepted around 6% of applicants and put another 10% on the waitlist...and I am def. not nearly as qualified as some of you guys, so i feel like i should stay on. oh, what to dooo!!!?!

Luckycharms: I'm at Smith.

How far west have your guys' decisions gotten?

im in NE Ohio and havent gotten a decision yet

roxy, those stats are unbelievable -- they only accepted 70 out of 1200 applicants? That number was definitely for accepted applicants, right, and not the total number of transfer students they anticipate enrolling? Wow... I mean that's almost 5%. Anyone know if this is in line with what they usually take?

no they note it on their website that they usually take much more and they list the ave SAT and GPA too and what schools kids transfer from alot

So how many of you are going to accept a position on the waitlist?

I do not think I will.

i am not going on the waitlist

Not bothering. BU for me, which I like more anyway because it's better integrated into the city itself.

LOL, did you try getting the name Matt30 before you choose 32?

Oh, wow! Haha. Nope, this has been my online handle for the past eight years now. I wonder what #s 1-29 and 31 are up to these days, though. =P

Hey I was wondering did anyone get in and decide not to attend?
