Can anyone rank the Boston area colleges... Harvard would obviously be first jeje

Harvard
MIT
Tufts
Boston College
Boston University
Northeastern
Suffolk

Berklee and Emerson are both focused on music and media respectively, so I'm not sure how they would fall into this ranking.

I would put Harvard and MIT as equal... I've also heard better things about NE than BU

I agree with Fandango & 2o_o7 both... revised list.

Harvard
MIT
Tufts University
Williams College
Brandeis University
Boston College
Northeastern University
Boston University
Suffolk . . . so forth.

1.Harvard
2.MIT
3.Tufts
4.Brandeis
5.Williams College
6.Boston College
7.Boston University
8.Northeastern

I didn't include Williams because I don't think it's fair to compare LACs with national universities.

and williams is as far away as possible from boston without being in another state....

What about Babson, Bentley, Wheaton, Olin, Wellesley (female, only), Simmons, Lesley.....there are still more!

unless you were thinking of wellesley? regardless...there are quite a few missing (and i like to be thorough(:

Harvard/MIT
Olin
Wellesley/Tufts
Boston College/Brandeis
Boston University
Babson
Northeastern
Emerson/Bentley
Simmons
WIT
Suffolk/Wheelock
Curry/Lesley

Also, Boston Conservatory of Music, Emmanuel College, UMass-Boston, Boston State College. These last two are probably the only ones mentioned in this thread that aren't filled to the brim with people from NY/NJ.

1) Harvard/MIT
2) Tufts
3) Wellesley/Boston College
4) Brandeis/Boston College
5) Boston University/Emerson
6) Northeastern/Babson/Bentley
7) Stonehill/Suffolk

futurenyustudent: Keep this thread objective and not according to your opinions. MIT's one of the best schools in the country, on par with Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford.

I would beg to differ....an MIT MBA is NOT on par, or even in the same LEAGUE as, a Harvard, Yale, or Stanford MBA. MIT's balance in academics is too out of whack.

I don't understand why you're bringing up MBA programs. The OP asked for a rank of Boston area colleges. And just for the record, MIT's MBA program is ranked #4 in the nation according to U.S. News this year.

You have no empirical evidence to support your claims that MIT's MBA programs or academics are not on par with schools like Harvard, Yale and Stanford.

"Keep this thread objective and not according to your opinions."

Not that I agree with futurenyustudent, but can you tell me one thing in this threat that is NOT opinion? Or that resembles the slightest bit of objectivity?
