Has anyone already had their BU audition? Mine is Tuesday (yikes!), and I'm just wondering the set-up. I've heard stories from my friend who's already been accepted to NYU Tisch, but no one I know is applying to BU. There is a chair provided, right?

I auditioned at BU this summer. They provide a chair. They told us that that is all you get. Their new web page outlines their monologue requirements. One two minute contemporary and one Shakespeare. Their web site specifies what they prefer for Shakespeare. I may be wrong, but its pieces that you cannot copy from the movie. Other than that, I do not know what they do at unifieds. Though I auditioned at their summer institute, I am doing it again Monday PM. Good luck.

THIS IS NOT FIRST-HAND INFO, but we have a friend who auditioned for BU on-campus a few weeks ago. The report was there was a standard info session, followed by auditions, scheduled at intervals across the day. At the audition, the two monologues were presented, and a few "interview" questions were asked. No feedback. No callbacks. Seems pretty straightforward.

Thanks so much! Already had both monologues picked out and all, mostly prepped, but I wanted to know the set ups. Thanks so much!

i went to a BIG info session of theirs and i was told you get about 10-15min within the block you signed up for. they'll have you do both your monologues, then they'll "workshop" one with you-- have you try it a different way, discuss its context, etc...i think they also may talk about your experience, why BU, etc. best of luck!

Another quick question... what to wear for a girl? I was thinking nice black pants, my good pair of heels (perfectly moveable heels for my blocking) and maybe a colored shirt and a black blazer? So a pants suit? Yes, no?

Unless you are very comfortable moving in a blazer I would stick with the pants, heels, and colored shirt, and stay away from the blazer in the audition. It may stifle your movement.

My d auditioned in Chicago Monday morning in the hotel rooms! They did a great info session and answered lots of questions about the BFA and BA. We saw girls in dresses and heels and some in jeans. I would say, flats or low heels are better and nice casual seemed to be the most popular choice. BU people were just po'd about being in a hotel room but I don't blame them. At least they were at the end of the hall and not like Emerson, right by the elevators!
Her audition went well and now we wait....and wait!!
