Boston U vs Loyola Marymount for Film Production

I have been accepted to both programs but am struggling to choose between the two. LMU clearly has the location advantage being right in LA, Boston U seems like a better all around school. My goal is to direct films in the future, I have no interest in TV production. Which program is the better choice? I’ve read that the BU LA internship program is very good but I’ve seen their connections are mostly in TV which worries me. Thanks in advance.

Are costs the same? If so…LMU is the better choice. Living in LA will absolutely serve you better in terms of networking opportunities than living elsewhere and relying on an internship to get your foot in the door.

I had a similar decision to make - I grew up in CA, then moved out of state, and I’ve always wanted to move back. I could have gone to my state flagship for cheap and then moved, but the drawback is that you have to start almost from scratch with industry connections, friends… If you want to be in the film industry, LA is almost certainly where you’ll end up, so it makes much more sense to start there.

LMU is by far better for your major, because in that profession networking and experience are the most important… but is it affordable?
You’re unlikely to make money for several years, at least not enough to pay back major loans (even the federal loans may be a stretch).
