Hello, I am currently a junior in highschool. I want to go into a Physician assistant program at either BU or NEU except I dont know If I can get in. I have a cumulative average of 3.8, Unweighted GPA and I am 20/157 students at my school (top 10% or so). These are the classes I have taken/currently taking

Senior year..planning to take Honors english, Honors World, AP Calc AB, Honors Physics, Spanish IV

I get mostly A's and when I do get B's theyre in Math. My two dream schools are BU and NEU and I just really want to get in except I dont know if I could. Hopefully I get a 1900 on my SATs.

I am involved in Girls tennis, 4 clubs, and have 50 hours of community service ( hoping its 100 by this summer )
Keep in mind my school is very very small and we only have a total of 5 aps and select amount of clubs.

I am Indian, So im not sure if that helps ive heard that colleges like the "minorities"
I am first generation, first to go to college from my family as well.

I am fluent in English, Gujariti, Hindi, and taking third year of Spanish right now.

Is it possible for BU or NEU to even consider me?

absolutely. study hard for the SAT or ACT and each school should be a match.

thank you so much

I would emphasize that neither parent graduated from a four year college.

It’s not too soon to be talking to your parents about how much money they can offer you each year for four years. You can also run the net price calculators on the financial aid pages of each school. You’re not going anywhere you cannot afford.

well money isnt an issue…

you’re very fortunate then.

I think that even if you applied TODAY, you would still be a competitive applicant for either school. That being said, you should focus on keeping your grades up and building good relationships with your teachers so you’ll have solid recommendations, too. Also, don’t completely write off the ACT. If you haven’t taken the PLAN, I’d suggest taking a practice test…I realized in June that the ACT was far better for me, and have since managed to score the equivalent of 200 points higher than I scored on the SAT.
Good luck, don’t stress yourself out too much!

thank you! Def plan on taking the ACT :)
