Boston Uni Vs Northeastern

Hello, I am currently a junior in highschool. I want to go into a Physician assistant program at either BU or NEU except I dont know If I can get in. I have a cumulative average of 3.8, Unweighted GPA and I am 20/157 students at my school (top 10% or so). These are the classes I have taken/currently taking

Freshman Year
Honors Bio
Honors English
Honors Geometry
Honors Algebra II
Honors US II
Spanish I

Sophomore Year
Honors Chem
Honors Precalc
Honors English
Honors US II
Spanish II

Junior Year
Honors English
AP Bio
AP US
Honors English
Honors Calculus
Spanish III

Senior year..planning to take Honors english, Honors World, AP Calc AB, Honors Physics, Spanish IV (Perhaps Ap English Lang)

I get mostly A's and when I do get B's theyre in Math. My two dream schools are BU and NEU and I just really want to get in except I dont know if I could. Hopefully I get a 1900 on my SATs.

I am involved in Girls tennis, 4 clubs, ( Hopefully I'll be in NHS by January) and have 50 hours of community service ( hoping its 100 by this summer )
Keep in mind my school is very very small and we only have a total of 5 aps and select amount of clubs.

I am Indian, So im not sure if that helps ive heard that colleges like the "minorities" (or just other ethnicitys )
I am first generation, first to go to college from my family as well.

I am fluent in English, Gujariti, Hindi, and taking third year of Spanish right now.

I believe you live in or near Boston as you are aiming at NEU and BU. If you get an sat score of about 1900, BU would still be a 50-50 for you because they are quite unpredictable. However you will definitely get into NEU with a 1900 sat, perhaps even with a 1750 too i guess. My question is that why are you even looking at NEU? Its just not worth it, Its like too much money but no bang. We have pretty amazing public schools which would cost you a lot less than BU and NEU like purdue, ohio state, penn state…You should apply to them as well. (All of these schools have a better reputation than NEU and an equivalent to BU)

@firedemon82, I think you are looking at very old stats. NU has comparable/higher scores than BU now (North of 1400 average on CR+M), and price wise they are decently comparable. NEU and BU is a very common application combination these days. For both schools I wouldn’t feel like I had a good chance until I hit over 2000.

If money is an issue, def look into some public options.

As far as the OP, I don’t really see a question. Are you looking for your chances or which school is better? Both have great schools in the medical field. NEU is specifically known for their pharmacy program, BU for almost anything in the medical field. You wouldn’t be going wrong with either.

I am looking for my chances of getting into either school!

@firedemon82 Thank you, but you’re right I do live in Mass. My parents don’t want me to leave Mass and I want to practice my field here, however I was planning to apply to penn state as a safe school

I would aim for a 2000+ standardized test score equivalent, ACT or SAT. With your GPA and rigor, that would make me feel safe. Under 2000 puts you in question, though still a decent chance. Between the two and a 2000 range SAT/ACT, I would feel confident that one would admit you, if not both.
