northwestern is up?

^Back to your earlier post about Friday releases. Today, Northeastern began to release at 3PM. Prior to that, they had emailed public high school guidance offices and other guidance offices announcing this, to give them notice and help them prepare for any disappointed students. Your first wave of calls to complain, will arrive at those locales and probably in the person of an unhappy student. I think with Northeastern’s high number of applicants, issues from last year’s slightly increased yield that went to 21% from 19% which sent kids abroad for their first semester last year (and helped create the “N.U.in. program”), variable housing availability due to students leaving campus housing to do co-op, and the general fact that Northeastern does not guarantee housing for 4 years will first end up on the doorstep of the high school guidance counselor as more students, hopeful for admission find wait lists and denials. I do believe that BU will begin to release decisions at 5PM EST on 3/23. Good luck to all prospective applicants! Mr. VC

Got into Northeastern but BU is really my top! I’d be so happy if decisions came out today but admissions told me next week so I’m doubtful :/

Yeah, it seems really early for Boston University to release decisions, especially since they released them around the 26th of March last year. I’m guessing they’ll release the decisions early next week.

I think they’re coming today. Just tried logging into my account and I couldn’t log in. Used the correct username and password and it brought me straight back to the login screen.

^The mode day for BU admissions releases has been on a Friday since 2009.
As has been pointed out, its the 25th or 26, of March. Waiting another week brings you to 3/30, which is after the Ivy release date of 3/29 5PM, with some staggering for time zones. Selective LAC’s, Wesleyan and Bowdoin are announcing today (Wes - email, Bowdoin mailing out their decisions) and others are in line, as well.
Waiting another week brings you close to April 1, which really squeezes down the decision time for May 1 deposits. People appreciate more time to consider their options, perhaps plan a campus visit, on their own or to a BU admitted students day. Announcing admissions sooner also allows you to roll those admit days out sooner. With notices to Trustee Scholars having gone out this week, Northeastern releasing yesterday, and the on-line message on the applicant link that “review of your application is complete” or something like that, I believe the release will be today. Keeping prospective students in abeyance for another weekend, when you say that everything is received and reviewed - while others move on and are receiving deposits for enrollment isn’t how BU thinks, or acts. Respectfully, Mr. VC

I heard from a trustworthy source that they are going up between today and tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll get in! This is my top choice.

Plus, from the looks of the BU’s facebook page, decisions are going up today.

I just tried opening the applicant link page and it says this ‘The ApplicantLink is currently being updated. We apologize for the inconvenience.’!!

My applicant link says it’s being updated! I’ve never wanted something so much in my entire life than to get into BU. I do know that the graduate school decisions came out today.

Good luck!

Does anyone know what time ED decisions came out? I have a feeling they’ll do something similar.

Based on the ED thread, those decisions were available about 12:30 pm.

My applicant link is being updated too :D

cant wait to get in!

Do you guys know if it’ll sent out in waves?

Most likely not. They are very likely uploading the letters and decisions and once they have all of them up, you will be able to check as the site will be working again.

Maybe forthcoming news. Just tried to access the application link and received the following:
"Your request was not completed because the following occurred:

The ApplicantLink is currently being updated. We apologize for the inconvenience.

If you experience a technical problem, call the Link Support Line at (617) 353-LINK (353-5465).
