*Boston University Class Of 2016: Regular Decision Thread*

Wait, what??? BU has mailed them out already!? Or are you an international applicant?

we are in Ohio

Im in northeast

ugh! My mail doesn’t come until 1PM. And I’m california, so I don’t know if my mail will even be here if I get it. More waiting…

Seems they are mailing to Trustee Scholarship winners first. And that’s a scholarship you have to apply specifically for, I believe.

well, i did apply for it. i just don’t know if i won it.

Those of you who have received the Trustee notification by mail today: Are you able to log into your BU account and see any admission/financial aid info there yet?

harvard5, Congratulations - well done! You certainly fit the profile of a Trustee Scholar and then some. I’m curious if BC has offered you anything similar, and I believe that you are awaiting some Ivy decisions next week. I sincerely wish you the opportunity to make the choices that you most want. Congrats and Good Luck!
Mr. VC

Does anyone know if they mail all trustee applicants regardless of whether they got the scholarship or not? I’m about 3 hours away from BU and got nothing in the mail today

And congrats Harvard5!!!:)

volleyball13: unfortunately i dont think they do, based on past years’ threads.

and thank you very much :)

mrvc: i have not heard from BC, and BC does not give merit aid unless one applies EA, which i did not.

harvard5, I have been around education for 30+ years, public, alternative, private, secondary venues. My brother was on the Harvard Medical School faculty for a period of time, as well. There was a young man, four years ago, graduated as Valedictorian from our local high school, didn’t get a cent of merit aid from BC, which I thought was a shame. He has since done a lot of great curricular and co-curricular things there, and is due to graduate this year. Hopefully some grace awaits him. Best to you! Mr. VC

Also received Trustee scholarship notification in the mail (northeast). Harvard5, I’m curious, what are your plans for the fall? Did you apply to, or get in to, your namesake? I’m asking because now I have to decide between MIT at full price and BU with trustee… I’d like to talk to someone in a similar position.

I haven’t gotten a notification from the Trustee Scholarship, though it may be delayed, as I live in North Carolina.

@harvard5 and @ChadBroChil17 - Was the decision also posted on the BU applicant link?

I’m in the exact same boat. MIT vs. BU with trustee

Do you guys think RD decisions will come out tomorrow?

I think they will, but it is a hunch

Yes, high chance of finding out on Monday of next week as well
cringes

anyway, the Big schools in MA are finally revealing their lists… really fun time of the year for us

Didn’t decisions come out on a Saturday last year? So isn’t it slightly more likely they’ll be out on Saturday?

The issue with a monday response is that then the admission’s office will be flooded with calls the next day; if they do a friday response (which many colleges do) they have the weekend to relax and give people time to cool down so the amount of calls they would get would be significantly less.
