Hello, I do not feel that I may qualify as the best candidate when it comes to the admissions process based on my GPA. I did not do so well freshman and sophomore year yet then I had picked it up later Junior year and took 2 AP courses and 1 Honors course. My overall GPA is about a 2.9 and my SAT score is about 1600 out of 2400. The admissions department suggested I apply to the CGS. Could anyone tell me what this is, or elaborate furthur. Also can I get in? Thank You.

I am also from out of state VA, I attend a very competitive high school were the gpa is very funky. An A is 94-100 and a B+ is a 93-90. You only get a +.5 on your gpa for an AP course as opposed to a +1 point. We also do not get anything for honors courses except for the name HONORS on the transcript. I thought I should let you know that. Thank You.

You will probably get in, especially since you have been improving over the years. It is very expensive compared with community college or a non-competitive branch of a state university. If you are interested, ask how many people manage to transfer from the program into the regular BU programs. Unless you can afford it easily, you could achieve the same at a cheaper CC or public school.
