Boston University Decisions Up

At least mine was, I got an email.

Their rejection letter was actually really sweet, at least. :(

Dear _______,

Your application for admission to Boston University has received the careful consideration of the Board of Admissions. We appreciate your interest in Boston University, but I regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission. An unfavorable decision is never easily reached. The number of candidates each year always exceeds the available openings, creating a highly competitive applicant pool.

This year Boston University received more than 38,000 applications for approximately 4,200 seats in our incoming class. This was a highly competitive applicant pool and unfortunately many very qualified students like you are receiving disappointing news. Please know that we recognize your strong commitment to your studies as well as the tremendous amount of time and effort that went into the preparation of your application.

You may wish to consider the possibility of transferring to Boston University after one or two years of strong work at another college or university. Favorable completion of challenging coursework would help us evaluate your potential for success in a degree program at Boston University.

Thank you for applying to Boston University. I wish you the best of luck in your future academic endeavors.

Sincerely,

Kelly A. Walter
Executive Director of Admissions

I was surprised because I didn't think they'd be up today. xD But my Boston U decision came right after my Stanford rejection.

This was an ego boost after I got rejected from GWU.

;[

The financial aid they gave was pretty good.

Gluck folks! :)

hey nervousashell what state are u from?

NJ 10 char....

Did you get in somewhere else?

Yeah. :)

BU was one of the few schools I loved so it's really heartbreaking but I did get into one school I'm really happy about so it's really about deciding whether it's worth it to pay the tuition or go to the state school.

I got denied ={ which really sucks that much more when you really like a school and think you have a good shot at it.

I haven't heard yet!
