Boston University ED 2017 applicants stats and Results

seobrad, emily,

or do you mean that because it’s such a high number of athletes, it might be kind of… idk, “clique”-ey? sort of like everyone has their own sport and therefore they’re all closer to each other, than you would be if you weren’t in that particular sport?

@venom - D has not said that she felt it was “fratty” or anything of the like. She has said that her entire floor is very friendly and most if not all hang out on a regular basis. In fact some of the girls on the floor formed an intramural soccer team even though most of them have not played in high school (they came in last in the league hahaha). They had lots of fun though! My D is not an athlete at all and most of her friends are from her dorm.

Yes, I did sort of mean what masking was getting at- I’ll admit I have a serious bias, I go to a public arts high school that was founded on the principle of being really arts focused. our funds are funneled into primarily our film, art, theater, and music programs, and while our sports have been making a bit of a name for themselves, the focus is always on arts, which was what I like. I’m in no way anti-athlete though! I’ve always loved sports and played soccer for 6 years. I guess I’m just used to feeling like I have more in common with more arts-driven people…but who knows! maybe living in west would be a good thing for me to be outside my comfort zone :)

@seobrad I’ve gotten nothing against a party environment :stuck_out_tongue: just don’t appreciate a certain ******y jock culture…

Also, I wouln’t say it was a party atmosphere either because the BU police are right on West Campus. They are pretty strict, in fact if you go into the dorms obviously intoxicated, the guards are instructed to call the hospital to come get you.

oops I got censored. heh

what word was that even supposed to be? haha.

I heard BU is very strict about “parties”.

uhh…rhymes with pouchey?

This year there are 100 fewer seats for freshman.

emily: ohh, gotcha! & i feel the same way about that.

Yeah what I meant was that the actual frat houses for BU are down by West, so there’s that culture down there more than there is near Warren. The only one I can think of near Warren is actually an MIT frat, so that’s pretty different.
Honestly, I’m sure you’ll be happy wherever, but from what I’ve heard, Warren is the more “artsy” dorm and West is the more “sportsy” dorm. Don’t quote me on this, this is what I heard from people when I was getting a tour of the education department.

Anyone hear from Northeastern yet? :slight_smile: sorry I know the thread is for BU but I was just curious ;)

no worries, any input valued. hopefully when I visit I’ll get a better idea of what’s good for me

jkavon; i haven’t applied yet, i figured IF i’m not accepted ED to BU, then i’ll send all my other apps to other schools, including NEU!

I didn’t apply to Northeastern, sorry!
But do you guys know if we get to find out about EA schools if we get into BU? I applied to UMichigan and UMaryland, and I’d like to know if I got in, but the Mich announcement is Dec 23, I think, and Maryland is end of January. Thoughts?

I applied EA just cause it’s in Boston but I didn’t really like it :confused: Haven’t heard anything yet but apparently they have been releasing decisions all day!

@jkavon95 I did! Accepted to Northeastern! :)

Guyz. Why. Not. Tonight.
Whyyyyyy why are you toying with my emotions BU…whyyyyyyyyyyyy (excessive use of “y’s” = obvious dramatic emphasis)

@livinmylife16 what were your stats? I applied ea to northeastern too
