Boston University-Fall 2019- Transfer

@KojouAndYukina I was accepted last Wednesday night and just received an email today saying that my application for financial aid has been processed, and that I’ll be receiving a decision in the next few days

is anyone a guaranteed transfer??

also, does anyone know the possible reason to why I was supposed to submit midterm grades but didn’t have to in the end because BU gave me an acceptance letter??

Dose anybody know when do they do the course evaluation?

@TTTransfer10 what have you applied for? you might have a good shot depending on what EC’S you have. BU does not look at grades only, your essays, financial position and a bit of a luck matters too! But with a 4.0 yes you do have a shot!

does anyone know what the average gpa is to get accepted as transfer?

@penntousc guess it’ll be a few more anxious days for me ?

@basketball45 I saw on BU’s page that the avg is about a 3.5, or at least a minimum of 3.5

@snickerdoodle123
I have applied as a entrepreneurship major and a few ecs and a professional business fraternity and I get almost a full pell grant and I am from the south

How long after the 2 paragraphs update do you get your decision?

@TTTransfer10 are you a freshmen?

Hello, I am a transfer student who has submitted my application for the fall 19 term. I applied to CAS for Economics and I was just wondering what my chances are of getting in are and when the decision would arrive.

Stats: 4.0 GPA freshman year in college (current), did not submit SAT. Toefl 102

Congratulations to those who have already got in. Please let me know if any of you CAS Eco majors have gotten a response. Many thanks.

also applied for econ (but mentioned in my essays im planning to double major in history too) im honestly super nervous cause its one of the more competitive majors isnt it? haven’t heard anything back though :confused:

@basketball45 @fall2019123 I got in with a 3.675 to the Econ major a few days ago. Your odds are probably decent.

Good for you, and thanks for your quick response!

Everyone is talking about the paragraphs
My portal has 2 paragraphs for at least 3 weeks, but I haven’t heard from BU yet. So I guess it is just a random thing?
ps: I am an international student but studying in the U.S. currently, idk if they review the international applications at last.

Got into CAS.

Some Prelim stuff for those who are wondering. My portal went from 3 paragraphs to 2 sometime between 2pm and 6pm EST. I check again at 8:30 pm and saw that I had gotten in.

A little bit about me:

Year: Sophomore
School: Tulane
Major: Computer Science and International Relations
College GPA: 3.35
HS GPA: 3.4
ACT: 34

Essays: 8/10

Those numbers aren’t that great to be honest, I think the reason I got in was because of my ECs.

Some Highlights of ECs:

Interned at 2 startups during summer 18

Interned at an F300 energy company during the Fall 18 semester

Currently a research assistant in the department of Bio chemistry

Founder and president of a neutral political organization and on board of the largest tech club on campus

Incoming software engineering intern at JP Morgan

hope this helps for people who might not have top scores but still are very involved

@zzJo12345 I’m also an international student studying in the US, I assume they probably won’t look at our application as quickly as the domestic students. Do you have the long paragraphs or short ones? Mine says “upon further evaluation…” so I don’t think they looked at it yet

@Suzzyy
These are my paragraphs.
Are these the 2 paragraphs everyone is talking about?
