@inlalaland CONGRATSSSSS
@transferto2022 thank you! beyond excited
I didn’t get very good aid for being a low income student, so I declined enrollment and will be returning to my previous school. Good luck to all of you, hope it works out!
Accepted to Questrom Two paragraphs around 1:00 EST and decision at 7:00 EST
Guys i submitted my CSS profile late and submitted an appeal letter and have received 29k in federal loans/scholarship aid. This brings my cost down to $25k for the first year at the college of arts and sciences. I am happy that i received aid but being $25k in debt is still scary. Would any of you still attend? I am low income and will not be receiving any financial help from anybody. Hopefully i will receive more aid in the following years if i submit my CSS on time.
That’s a hard thing to ask others tbh. But I think it really comes down to what you want as cliche as it sounds. Also I would consider potential earnings as to what you’re studying and career paths. Lastly if I were in that situation I’d really ask myself what BU has to offer and how great/little will the return be if I take these loans. Hope this helps even just a little bit!
It definitely helped, i think that the $400+million in research funds is what makes me interested in BU the most. I would like to do undergraduate research and i even have my own cross disciplinary research idea that i would like to request to the computer science and chemistry departments, i feel like they have the funds to get it done. Other than that i feel like BU looks much better to employers than Umass Boston would, so job ops are probably going to be much better in the future. Thank you for your input
I won’t be living with the on campus housing, but i am planning to find a place near the school so if anyone is looking for a roommate HMU
Got accepted into college of engineering.
Really excited
PS: I had three paragraphs at 10:30PM
received a mail that my decision has been released two hours later
@123vgabc do u mind sharing ur stats
For the people that got accepted awhile ago, how are y’all financial aid awards?? cuz mine’s def not enough
@transferto2022 i didn’t submit anything for financial aid but… I don’t know why they’re being really low with their financial aid… i’ve seen a good amount of low income students have to deny because they barley helped.
@transferto2022 My package was 29k so I owe $25k. To me it’s scary to think about being that much in debt plus the interest … But at the same time I really want to go to BU. Still undecided what I will do. I’m extremely low income but submitted my CSS late so I think that’s why I didn’t get much. I graduated high school with a 1.4 gpa, so getting accepted to BU was the proudest and most exciting moment of my life. I think I’ll probably end up just taking on the debt and attending.
For credit evaluations we just email them ALL of the syllabi of every class we’ve taken??
also are we able to submit AP scores for the credits from those classes?
Still in 3p… hope they make a decision before May 1. Give me some time to decide at least.
@inlalaland yea… i might have to deny because it’s just not enough for me.
YES! Send in your syllabi for fall and spring semesters ASAP!! I hear they take FOREVER to go thru them
@zs2019transfer i’m on a similiar page. My award is $30K not including loans. If it’s $72k/year that means I hve to pay $42K out of pocket which is impossible for me. I’m awaiting to hear from other schools so hopefully I get a better package
@123vgabc do you mind sharing your stats? I’ve applied for the same major and I’m kinda freaking out!
does anyone know if we’re able to send in our AP scores for credit?
