*boston university rd class of 2020 thread*

Son was guaranteed a 2017 transfer into the college… have to look into that a bit more

Accepted Engineering
Presidential Scholarship
Rejected Kichland
34 Act
3.85 GPA (with upward trend)
no APs offered
great ECs and recs
female OOS

@ub1997 you probably didn’t get anything about Trustees because you got Presidential. Congrats!

@BandMominnj congrats to your daughter! Where else has she applied/been accepted?

How do you find out about merit awards?

@mathminded Wow that’s ridiculous!

@notrel52 I received 20k in Presidential Scholarship and a little over 10k in Grants. I did not apply for honors or for any specific scholarship, but in case you did not know, BU’s website states that in order to be considered for merit award, your application must be in by December 1.

SAT: 2280 (one sitting), SAT II: US History (750) Math II (760) Physics (740), ACT: 34, GPA: 4.45/4.0 W
12 APs, 5 senior year - AP Scholar with Distinction
Captain of two sports teams. Limited EC’s otherwise. Paid employment.

Denied for this year but accepted as a 2017 transfer. May consider it seeing as it’s quite cost effective going in state my first year and then to BU for the next 3. Does anyone know how scholarships work for transfer students? And for others who have been offered this option are you considering it?

@brendafly - with that kind of score and no merit, I don’t understand
@mathminded - don’t know what they are looking for

Rejected 35 ACT and 3.77 GPA

Not that sad about it but pretty surprised since it was my safety. Oh well

It’s my very first admission from all the American schools I applied. Super excited! <:-P

Rejected (tbh im a bit surprised lol)
SAT 2230, ACT 34
SAT II - literature 770, math 1 720
UW GPA 3.9, W 4.7.

Accepted to engineering, 1980 sat and 4.05 w gpa, does anyone know much about the boston university grant? is it a scholarship based on merit or on need base?

Rejected. I don’t get it. SAT 2320, GPA 3.5(little low but highly competitive private school) Founder of a vacity team and other usual activities, very good RL)

There’s a grammar mistake but somehow I cannot edit lol

Isn’t it weird that people with relatively high stats got rejected? Has it happened a lot the previous years?

Accepted to CAS!!!
SAT: 2200
SAT II: Bio 690, Chem 700
4.1 weighted GPA
OOS (Connecticut)

accepted with presidential scholarship, though I didn’t apply for it.
however I did apply for the trustee scholarship but they didn’t mention it anywhere, does it mean that I didn’t get the trustee scholarship?

Rejected but guaranteed transfer.

@Ngzk07 same. Was pretty surprised since BU was one of my safeties.

@sandsand6 do you think that bu is pulling a tufts?
