i know this is incredibly late but any sites where i can find a roommate? (like fb, xanga, etc) Not just randomly, but actually get to talk to people and have some interaction to see if our personalities match, if not, at least tolerate?

I was going to room with a friend from my hs, but everyone told me thatād be a bad move regarding the whole āmake-new-friendsā attitude freshmans are suppose to have so i hope it isnt too lateā¦

well you already mentioned facebook but that's where i met my roommate and a lot of others have met their potential roommates there too. plus i made a bunch of friends who are going to BU in the fall from facebook :]. the BU groups are a great place to meet roommates, i think. especially with those surveys ;p

my friend found her roommate on myspace and they had all the similar interests you could imagine. they still wound up hating each other. i think its better to just have a random roommate; even if that person sucks, you're still going to make friends and you'll meet the person you want to room with sophomore year. i just think it makes the college experience more exciting and new. good luck with everything!

i'm a rising sophomore at bu...from what i've seen of roommates who have picked each other from facebook, etc. ...it doesn't really matter if you guys have similar interests. what matters the most is your lifestyles. for example, it doesn't matter much if you guys like the same band...if your roommate wants to go to sleep at 10pm and you want to blast that band's music at 2 in the morning...it's not gonna work out well.

Yeah, it would help if you had common interests, but it's better to have common habits than interests. At least then you won't annoy each other.

a lot of people last year found people on fb or something who were also transferring to be their roommates and whoever lived closest went and found an apartment.. it worked out for a lot of people
