I’ve been looking around on the BU website, and I haven’t found anything regarding roommates. Is there a questionnaire to be filled out later that puts you with someone? How does that process work in general. Also, how happy are you with the roommates you got?

they place you randomly. housing is completely honest when they say they researched universities that try to place roommates based on a questionnaire, and it doesn’t seem to work out any better or worse. my friend found her roommate on myspace because they had basically the same interests and the same tastes in music; 2 months after moving in they stopped speaking to each other. my roommate and i just lived together and that was about it, totally fine, and i have other friends who are best friends with their freshman year roommates to this day (senior year). you’ll be fine, just go into dorm life open-minded and set rules for the room the first day you get there (i.e. tv, guests, windows open/closed, etc) because things will get on your nerves as well as your roommates. it’s just all part of the experience! 4 years later, if i could change anything about my freshman year, i wouldn’t; not only that but i would love to do the freshman year experience all over again if i could.

There are a lot of ways that people swap rooms, with a whole lingo.
