I wanted to start a new thread for those applying as transfers to BU for spring 2022.
Hi! I’m trying to transfer for BU spring from NYU
What made you want to leave NYU for BU?
have you received access to your portal yet because I haven’t.
oo why are you leaving and I am also applying to nyu as a transfer as well
Is anyone transferring after only one semester as a freshman?
im applying as a first semester sophomore
Has one received access to their portal yet I applied at the end of September and I haven’t gotten it yet
Just submitted my application today. I’m a junior applying for second semester. Does anyone know when we’re supposed to hear back?
from pass chats they started hearing back on nov 12th to dec but they processed transfer applications way later this year. so maybe late nov to early dec
NYU has no community. Most students feel soo alone here just because there’s nothing binding us together. We don’t party together, there’s no sports teams, and very minimal student engagement as a whole. It’s honestly depressing and very lonely. The environment is stressful for me too, because NYC is slowly getting unsafer, and it was just too big of a city for me. That’s obviously very subjective though, and the vivaciousness of the city is what attracts a lot of kids, but it didn’t do that for me. It was overwhelming. The toxic culture, and constant competition is so stressful too. Obviously there will be a degree of that at every school, but it’s heightened at NYU because Stern and CAS kids have massive egos haha. It’s a great school, just not my vibe.
I’m copying and pasting what I said from the other comment but:

We don’t party together, there’s no sports teams, and very minimal student engagement as a whole. You live in the city, going to NYU is a very small facet of you. I really want a community, and sports teams. Boston is also way smaller, cleaner, and safer and less overwhelming. I part time grew up here too, so there’s an element of familiarity. I know plenty of people who love NYU though.
me!
Do you guys think the acceptance will be high this year? Really hoping to get in to SHA
me, but i heard it’s not likely for us to get accepted? is this true
really? why wouldn’t it be likely?
just because there’s so little info about us as college students i think but it could very well not be true i just heard it from a friend
oh are you a freshman?
yep
Oh, I haven’t heard that. Have you applied to BU previously?
