Yikes. Can be safely assumed that yield rate will be down which means acceptance rate will have to go up…
what makes you think that? @Jtfallon13
@BamBam7 if they expect fewer students to accept their offer due to COVID related issues (ie campus life not running as usual or moving to a later start date) they will accept more students to get the number of students enrolling to be about the same to bring in about the same amount of revenue as before
My apologies, I meant @bamba2208 ^
Oh no problem! thank you for your response!
I do hope they accept more applicants, especially those that are down to attend even with the virus going on.
i know harvard accepted more this year than past years because they received 8% less applications for RD. im sure this theme applies to many other colleges in highly infected areas (so probably BU too)
Does this mean that there will be online classes for Fall 2020 or that classes wouldn’t even start until Spring 2021? They say “in which case summer 2021 academics would replace those now planned for fall 2020.” but this doesn’t make much sense to me…
I have absolutely no idea… I guess it’s just a matter of time
What do you guys think them asking for extra financial aid stuff means? I feel like it’s kind of odd because I received a tax return request from USC but not BU. Wouldn’t they both need that?
That’s what i wondering. All the other schools that i’m applying to asked supplement financial aid documents. I’m really worried because BU is my top choice and i don’t know what it means.
@bamba2208 @LNK1999 I am wondering the same thing. I also applied to USC and as soon as I got my SSN matched with my financial aid, like a week later they asked me for the W2s of my parent, and the household member list. The interesting thing here is that BU asked me about these things also. However, in addition, they asked for some student income info, so who knows. I hope we here something this week.
hear*
I don’t know about the financial aid packages but most of the decisions are going to come the next two weeks. When i called , they told me that if you have already submitted all the required documents you should receive your decision in the next two weeks (I called them on Friday).
How would we know that we have less applicants this year? The due date for the application was before this whole mess happened.
well corona started back in december, so people may have been less inclined to transfer schools at all out of being scared.
I called for the second time and the person (same person I think) said decisions will be given out starting late May.
I feel there is a lot of misinformation coming from whoever is in the admissions office right now. Some people keep getting told the decisions are coming out in the next few weeks and then others in late May. That’s kind of weird
i think she means that by late May all the decisions will be out but it’s going to start this week.
^^ ya that would make more sense
