Boston university transfer fall 2020

Well guys, something changed for me. I was not able to give my college transcript because it’s not available right now, but they told me that they will be able to make a decision with my my college report, mid-term report and high school transcript. I just logged in and the first thing i noticed was that they moved the “College transcript requested” from the required tab to the received tab. I don’t know what’s going on here.

I don’t think we should expect anything until tomorrow at the earliest

@bamba2208 are you a freshman applicant?

Yeah i’m currently a first semester freshman @mill213.

@bamba2208 All your documents need to be marked as received before they can view your application and give a decision. Your college transcript hasn’t been received. They just marked it as so due to your current circumstances.

Oh okay, i get it. That makes more sense. Thanks @Kliang !
By the way guys, i just called them and they told me that decisions release will start by the end of this week.

So would that mean the first wave of results will be this Friday?

Also, do they release decisions on weekends?

@kliang i doubt it considering admissions offices are closed weekends

@bamba2208 they probably just waived your college transcript for now then. i’m sure they’ll ask for it at the end of this semester though. i was curious if you were a freshman applicant bc as a sophomore my college gpa pretty much defines my decision, but since you’ve only completed one full semester so far they’ll just judge off of your high school stats

When I emailed they said the first wave would come out April 15 (tomorrow) so definitely expect some kind of update within the next couple days!!!

@mill213. Well i didn’t do my high school in the US. My freshman year of high school was kinda crap, my sophomore year was mid and my senior year was definitely GREAT (it’s only 3 years in France). I hope that they take into account my progression when making a decision.

@bamba2208 ohhh i see okay, i have no idea how they do that then unfortunately. hopefully they take note of your high school progression, good luck!! hopefully decisions come out soon

thank you ! you too!

@gmedeiros09 hopefully! when did you email them?

@ahy2000 they got back to me on April 9, the email said:

"Thank you for contacting Boston University Undergraduate Admissions.

We will start releasing admissions decisions on April 15th and will continue to release them on a weekly basis through May."

Does anyone know how long you have to reply (provided you’re accepted) if you will be attending or not?

One school that accepted me like April 4th or something gave me until may 15th… considering they won’t be done releasing decisions until May, I’m assuming it’ll be anywhere from June 1st-15th ish

i’m not sure but i think you have around one month or more to pay your deposit…?

the reply date for last year was june 1. btw maybe im just finding out about these late but the common data sets are really helpful if you wanna see the demographic and number of students accepted for previous years! the one for 2018-2019 bu is https://www.bu.edu/oir/files/2019/04/cds-2019.pdf.
