Boston University Transfers Fall 2018

Can someone tell me my chances? Applied to College of Arts and Sciences for Psychology. My stats are
College GPA: 3.94
HS GPA: 3.4
College Class Rank: 2/998
Currently on a medical leave of absence, but I talked to an admissions counselor and they said that doesn’t play into decision.
I’m in one online class with a B-, which will bring my GPA to a 3.7, but they have yet to ask me for a midyear (probab;y have yet to get to my application).
EC’s:
Writer for Odyssey
Active Mind’s
Academic Provost to the schools Provost
Honors College
President of service learning center
Community service 3 hours a week
Internship

I applied Feb 28, however, not all my materials were received in March 13 (I don’t know why, my transcript sent late and my admissions counselor e-mailed me she received it March 13)

Thanks!

Oh I almost forgot to mention I am in their Summer Program and the admissions team knows this

And I STILL have 3P’s  It’s going to be a while for me

Accepted - International Student - got into questrom, business major with GPA of 3.9
One year as a business major at out of state 4-year university + another year at California Community College.
Didn’t submit any test score because of junior standing and exceeded English proficiency required.
Also got into UNC. Still waiting to hear back from USC and NYU.

@californian0328 congrats!!! did you get your decision this morning?

Still at three (well, four really) paragraphs as well. At this point I’m not sweating it too hard, though. The only thing I’m concerned about at this point is financial aid – if I am accepted to BU will I get an aid offer before I’m required to submit a decision at any of my other schools? Kind of frustrating how little of a window you’re given to make an informed decision with the college transfer process.

Question to accepted students: is anyone else having trouble viewing housing? I haven’t put a deposit down yet since i’m still waiting on other schools (BU is 2nd choice for me rn). Do I need to enroll myself before I can see the housing portal?

Doing bad in a course right now, which is listed as NO CREDIT AWARDED next to it on the transfer credit evaluation sheet. Is it better to drop or it, or will there be a slight chance to get it petitioned.

If you don’t need it I would just drop it. I can’t imagine you would be penalized for not continuing a course that isn’t gonna transfer over… @r3j3ct3d1

@msport and anyone in the same situation. I asked my brother about this, who went through the same transfer process last year, appealed 2 of his classes that were listed as NO CREDIT AWARDED and were able to get them petitioned and counted.

Ah ok, good to know if I get in!

I’m part of guaranteed transfer and still haven’t heard back yet. Anyone who is Guaranteed transfer heard back yet?

has anyone had any luck with appealing for more financial aid? i just got my award, and it’s not as much as my current school is giving me, so i was hoping i could try appealing. i did it when I got in as a high school senior, but they didn’t give me any more, so i’m not entirely sure how well this could go down,

@msport no i think it was like last week. As soon as they started sending decisions out - thats when I got it

@vdoan17 how are you a guaranteed transfer?

I’m part of their guaranteed transfer admission program. I’m a current freshman right now at a state university in Mass, if i get a cumulative gpa of 3.0 both semesters then i get guaranteed transfer. I applied last year and got rejected but they gave me this program instead. @stephaniecarino

Anyone here considering dropping a course that does give credit, I’m doing so bad in macro like below a C

@vdoan17 have you heard back?

I still have 3p on my portal :frowning:
