Hey guys! I’m hella indecisive and I’m having a hard time deciding which college I should attend. I’m going to list out pros and cons and I ask if you guys can comment which school may be better?
Boston University
Cost - Around $50K
Major - Comm-Advertising
Pros:
I heard their comm program was good.
It’s been my top choice for a while now.
Boston (away from home lol)
Internships
Well-Known
My mother likes it LMAO
It’s a big school with a pretty good social scene and lots of clubs
Cons
Expensive (I asked for more money let’s see)
Grade Deflation? Can someone confirm or deny this?
I want to go to grad school and I need both the money and grades so it ties into the two above.
Fordham University
Cost - Around $40K
Major - Gabelli Business-Global Business
Pros:
I heard their business program is good.
The freshman dorm at LC is hella nice LMAO
They gave me more money than BU (still expensive to attend ik)
NYC > internship opportunities
and like NYC is kinda the best
My father likes it ha
Cons
NYC > TOO CLOSE TO HOME LITERALLY MINUTES FROM HOME
I guess not as well-known as BU
Especially the LC campus, it’s really small so there’s not a lot of clubs or parties on campus
Please help me guys!!! Which would you guys go for!? Should I go for my mom’s choice (BU) or my dad’s choice (Fordham)??? One parent is gonna hate me for 4 years…
I personally think you should choose BU because there’s over 30,000 thousand students so you’ll meet amazing people. Also, if you like hockey then definitely attend a hockey game, it’s amazing!!! Sure, you might have to pay a lot of money now, but you still have the option to acquire scholarships while you’re there.
@remedystudy is giving poor advice IMO. 40,000 dollars EXTRA debt on top of the loans you ALREADY have to take is not worth a couple crappy sports games.
@philbegas you really do bring up a great point. Plus, this is only for my undergrad studies… and I’ll see if I can get a number of loans to you soon! I have to ask my parents. Thanks for all your help though really, you’ve changed my perspective on a lot.
@philbegas Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus has about 2,000 undergrads and probably over 5,000 grad students. The number of students you quote in post #8 also includes the Rose Hill campus. Students can take classes and use facilities on both campuses but the number of undergrads at the home campus at LC would be relatively small. Still, given the economics, Fordham looks like the prudent choices. https://www.fordham.edu/info/20088/fordham_facts
