Boston University vs George Washington campus comparison

We recently visited BU. We knew it would be very urban and that DD didn’t think she wanted urban. She wanted to see it in person to see if she liked it. While she didn’t love the lack of a traditional campus she thought it was ok. When we visited DC we skipped GW because it is very urban. Now, I’m wondering if it’s worth a look. So for people that have toured both, how do the campusses compare? And is there really no dining hall at GW? Is there a student center?
Thanks!

We toured both. My D loves urban campuses and hates the more traditional ones, so she’s not typically someone most people would agree with, i think. I think BU had a bit more of a “together” feel, whereas GWU did feel to me to be a bit more scattered around.
There is a student center as I recall in the same building that the tour started from. There were also dining options right in there. Most of the urban campuses we visited didn’t have too much focus on dining halls per se, but all had many or most of the surrounding supermarkets and restaurants/takeouts are on the meal plans, and GWU fit in this kind of category. Tbh I don’t recall right now if there is a proper dining hall as such. Seems like grabbing groceries and cooking in the residence kitchens is quite popular, and certainly a number of the food places around were densely populated by students.
For my D, to a large extent the difference between BU and GWU comes down to what they offer. She liked BU and Boston, but she absolutely loved DC as a city, and she’s interested in international relations /politics, so the attraction of the internships on offer while at GWU - many of them within walking distance, with various government departments, IMF etc all around GWU - is what really excites her about this campus. And amazing guest lecturers, etc, as is the case with all the DC campuses. So I think it partly depends on what major one would want. If she was wanting to do sciences for example, I doubt GWU would figure on my daughter’s shortlist at all.

Thanks @sj2727

BU has quite a variety of restaurants, stores, coffee shops, & bars at each end of its long campus, as well as some in the middle of it. From what I saw it seemed like GWU didn’t have a lot of those sorts of businesses adjacent to it. Did I miss something near the GW campus?
